Gold Zari Stores

Zari is a type of thread that is made of fine gold and silver wire and is used in traditional Indian and Pakisthani garments. This thread is woven into fabrics, primarily made od silk to create intricate patterns. It is generally believed that this tradition started in the Mughal period. Zari is the main material in most silk sarees and ghagras. It is also used in other gourments made of silk like skirts and vettis. In the mughal period, Zaris made of gold were used to fabricate sarres and ghagras. The reand continues and even in 17th century India and Bengal, Gold Zari Stores were prominent.
Gold Zari was generally used to fabricate banarasis, lengas that were used as garments for matrimony. Wives and daughters of rich people used to wear gold zari dress at home and for any occasion or festivals. But the benarasis that are generally regarded as the marriage wear were always heavily fabricated with gold threads or gold zaris and is worn even by the middle class people. Gold Zari Stores was then a lucrative business.
But with the advancement of time, gold has gradually emerged as the most valuable of all the metals. Because of its high expense, the gold zari work on clothes are almost on the verge of decline. Even benarasis today, is fabricated with silk threads. But this circumstances, it is practically impossible for the old Gold Zari Stores to survive and they gradually died out. The benarasis that were famous especially for their gold works are also devoid of gold works. Despite, the present wretched condition, there are some Gold Zari Stores that are surviving. These stores generally supply zari to benarasis, ghagras and lengas. The gold threaded banarasis, lengas and ghagras are not only exclusive and beautiful but also very expensive.
